It’s been a while since I made my last post. The holidays have come and gone. I have not shared my word for the year or spoken about all the things I have to look forward to in 2018. The year is almost halfway up, and I got nothing.
It’s been a serious writer’s block. So much is going on, I find myself sitting and staring into space. My mind is in political overdrive. I can’t think for all that is going on in the world. Every day there is something new.
There was a time we only worried about the weather and toxic spills. Equal pay was an issue every four years during a general election. The same with abortion rights, taxes, guns and social security. Now we have the Me Too movement, Black Lives Matter, sex scandals, Russian interference, Collusion, Constitutional Meltdown, possibly nuclear war, another war in the Mid-East, Not One More, How Many More, Women’s March, Poor People’s Campaign (PPC), and on and on. When will the twitters stop? Every day I open the social media I read about one more Black person that has been shot, beaten or deprived of their civil rights. All of this being reported on the fake news.
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired! Ain’t you tired yet?

I thank Jesus that God is the source of my strength and courage. In the midst of all this mayhem, my God is a source of love, peace, and light. I can retreat into him and find comfort. I can rest assured that wrongs will be made right and those that offend him, by offending his children will have consequences to pay.
And like Jesus taught, I will continue to fight the good fight for children, the poor, women, and sick. I will continue to spread his philosophy of love and kindness in the face of adversity.
As I sat in my first training by the PPC, I asked myself, “If Not Now…When?” I signed the PPC Covenant and declared my allegiance to their guiding principles of nonviolence and call for a moral revival.
What are you doing?
